Be alerted to measure your peak flow

Peak Flow can alert you to measure and enter a peak flow reading and your asthma symptoms.

Click on the Set alerts task to open the Alert Settings.

Changing the Alert Settings

Choose to be alerted after a number of hours, or at the same time each day, or two times per day (AM and PM).

If one or more alerts is missed because your computer is turned off, Peak Flow will alert you once when you first turn your computer on. Peak Flow can be configured to wait a number of minutes before alerting you to measure your peak flow.

How alerts work

When you choose to be alerted:

• Peak Flow adds itself to your System Tray (near your clock).
• Peak Flow will automatically run when you start your computer.

To alert you to measure your peak flow, the icon in the System Tray area will flash with an alert icon, and a balloon tip will appear. Clicking on the icon will open Peak Flow. This is illustrated in the screenshot below:

Notes

• When alerts are enabled, closing Peak Flow will minimize it to the System Tray.
• If you want to completely exit Peak Flow, click on the File menu, then click Shutdown. (If you do shutdown, Peak Flow can no longer alert you).
• To stop Peak Flow from automatically starting when you start your computer, uncheck the Alert me to take my peak flow option.
