Asthma Action Plans and My Peak Flow

Peak Flow is not an Asthma Action Plan and can not be used in place of one.

Instead, Peak Flow is used to help you track and record your peak flow readings and asthma symptoms. This enables you to provide your doctor with detailed information on your asthma (or your children's asthma) so that they are better able to assess your symptoms, current action plan and medications.

An Asthma Action Plan is developed between your doctor and yourself and contains information such as what medications you should take, how to adjust the medications according to your peak flow reading and your asthma symptoms, and what to do in an emergency.
